Welcome !

In Scouting, a boy is encouraged to educate himself instead of being instructed. ~ Robert Baden-Powell

Boy Scout Troop 130 is a committed group of Scouts and Scouters, boy-led and organized to maximize the scouting experience with a solid, well-rounded program of outdoor adventures, Scouting advancement, and community service. The unit was formed in January 1958 and has been going strong for over 50 years. We've produced over 100 Eagle Scouts, with many more travling the Scouting Trail.

Troop 130 is an active troop, with many fun activities happening every month. From camping in the Rockies to hanging U.S. flags on national holidays, from canoeing the Colorado River to helping in our neighborhood food bank, from hiking Philmont to participating in Easter Sunrise at Red Rocks - our troop stays active in the scouting program and in our community.

Year 'round, our troop is always on the go! Want to join in on the fun? Contact Us for more information! You can find a copy of our Activities Calendar here.

Western Region Board Meeting - Flag Ceremony - Sep 15 2016 - 6:00pm-7:30pm

The BSA Western Region is holding its fall Board and Committee Meetings at the Marriott West in Golden. The meetings begin on Wednesday and end at noon on Friday. They have asked for a Boy Scout Unit to perform the opening flag ceremony before the Region Dinner on Thursday September 15.

Troop 130 and Crew 130 has agreed to perform the ceremony, so we need 8 Troop or Crew members to participate. Scouts are welcome to attend the initial reception at 6pm, but need to be at the hotel by 6:30pm to prepare. Opening flags will be with at least two flags (American and one other), and we have been asked to give the invocation as well.

After the opening ceremony participants will be able to go out to dinner (funds will be provided by Western Region).

Nate Graf and Ben Reid will be heading things up, participants should wear full Class A+ uniform (including Troop 130 neckerchief for Boy Scouts). Please see Mr. Graf or Ben with questions or to get more information. Please register online at troop130golden.net
